I bravely hosted a dinner party for my husband’s work team over the holidays. Cooking for nine children is one thing but cooking for nine fancy adults (plain pasta and a few cut carrots would just be memorable for all the wrong reasons) is a supreme effort. I’ve done this before but I think the fare was a bit easier back then. This time around I ventured into the realm of Cornish game hens (yes, I managed to fit all nine in my oven), butternut squash pasta with a sage butter reduction and a melange of other delicacies.
While I enjoy cooking, I think my favorite part was coming up with the simplistic but dramatic centerpiece (cranberries submerged around fresh cut flowers) and the menus (in the form of menu wraps).
